Running Good or Bad?

Running good or Bad?

Running its good for us right?

We can all do it, all we need to do is put on some trainers go out the door and we are off! Well not so right! In fact a lot of people run straight into injury a few months down the road when they thought it was all going so well! Lower back, hamstrings, ankle, hips, knees. You then put it down to the fact you can’t run or shouldn’t run, you get the foam roller out thinking a bit of self myofascial release will fix it, but actually have you ever thought that the site of pain, is not where it’s at all?

When we say core, you immediately think abs. Well your core is the trunk of your body, it encompasses your hips, your back and your deep inner muscles that will never be seen on the outside, but play a HUGE role on the inside keeping you upright, and without strength in them, will see you happily on the road to injury…I should know, I have learned the hard way at great expense!!!

By strengthening the hips and gluteus muscles, you will see an increase in speed and distance in your running as well as comfort, allowing you to reach your goals weather that is a 5k, a half or full marathon. Don’t ignore the signs and keep running through, your body will find a way to stop you!
